Brand creation for a luxury landscape architect.

The Client

Our highly sought-after client, Wes Arola, provides innovative solutions to create outdoor experiences that truly make backyards immersive, enjoyable, and memorable.

The Challenge

With each project, WALA (Wes Arola Landscape Architecture) is responsible for the creation of custom outdoor experiences. The concepts and execution of each luxury outdoor solution are highly detailed. This needed to be portrayed in the brand and the immense value WALA brings to each project.

The Strategy

Focused on creating a brand of opulence that also is very intricate and bold, the expertise of WALA needed to be presented as well as differentiate them from the competition. The competitive edge of the strategy was to bring a more mysterious and high-end brand to the market that aligned with the desired audience and their values.

The Design

The direction for the visual identity needed to speak to the intricacy of the landscape architecture expertise as well as draw in the viewer visually. The complex design works as an icon and wordmark making the brand name into more of a memorable symbol. With fine lines and a mysterious nature, the design not only gives a nod to the accuracy of the architect, but also the luxury market the brand serves. Guided by this aesthetic, the wordmark is woven into a seamless pattern to create a visually appealing and impactful design as a scalable brand extension.

The Creative Solution*

The solution ultimately came to a brand that is professional and clean yet still has personality with a slight edge. The brand is confident and deliberate. It is not desperate and not afraid to swim against the current in both its services and industry. The brand reveals the inherent value to those who align with the business and truly want to create a proper outdoor experience that is immersive and unforgettable.

Motif took an unconventional approach to support my official launch and establish an identity for my landscape architecture practice.
